Wine Country

7/10

It’s a fun girl’s trip, summer movie that your mom is going to love.

Not going to lie, this movie is totally predictable, but you will really fall in love with the bits. I would’ve given it a much higher rating if it was a bit more original. At the end of the day, it has a Brides Maids sort of feel to it, and I loved it.

Rachel Dratch’s character is turning 50 so Amy Poehler plans this whole reunion trip to celebrate her birthday with this extravagant Air BnB in the wine country of Napa. Naturally, everyone has closeted skeletons that they find a way to air out under the influence of copious amounts of wine. It’s the wine talking.

Directed by Amy Poehler and stacked with so many excellent and hilarious cast members. They all complement each other so well that no one in particular stole the lime light. Jason Schwartzman even peppers in a complimentary, antagonistic character as he tags along the gals and “comes with the house”.

Totally got the vibe that they were putting down, how they are all getting old and need to carpe diem on this little wine trip in Napa. Sweet and savory resolution well worth the watch.

tl;dr

Date Flick – My girlfriend and I loved watching this together. We were laughing the whole way through.

Great Flick – Not exactly the most original, but still super entertaining and fun.
