Uncut gems is a nonstop anxiety, thrill ride through the heart of New York's diamond district. Adam Sandler has an excellent serious role that isn't too bobbah-wooby-bah-dooby. (if you know, you know)
His character is not exactly the hero-type, but more of the angry, greedy, shouty type. All he really cares about is money, paying off his debt, and making more money.
The Safdie brothers made this one, along with a flick called Goodtime starring Robert Pattinson. That’s another film of theirs that I’d actually recommend checking out.
There is talks around the watering hole, that Sandler was snubbed the Oscar-nom. Yeah, l agree; but l wouldn’t necessarily put this one at #1.
Would have enjoyed this movie so much more if my blood pressure wasn’t through the roof with anxiety. All in all, the shots were great, script excellent, and great resolution.
