7 / 10
Kaley Cuoco, well known as Penny from the Bing Bang Theory, stars in a decent mystery, thriller series on HBO.
Although I appreciated the style and look of this show, it definitely didn't need to be eight episodes long. It felt a bit drawn out and filled with unnecessary character development. It could have just been a long movie in my opinion.
The cinematography and international locations were pretty interesting. The creators of this show definitely had a good eye.
The script was a bit bland, but I did appreciate the supporting roles as they each had their own individuality. Although the character development was strong, they felt like throwaway storylines just to draw out the show's length.
You know that feeling when you watch the protagonist make mistakes and you, as the audience member, can see them coming? Yeah, there were plenty of those scenes in this show. It was just hard to watch at some points.
The resolution was decent enough, but I’m not going to spoil it if you. Cuoco was a great lead for this show, but I can't help but see the waitress from the Cheesecake Factory (Big Bang Theory reference).
Overall, it was a decent binge-watch.
