Intense! Buckle up because it’s gonna be a bumpy, painfully scary ride. J. J. Abrams loves to strike the audience's eye balls with compelling visuals that both excite, thrill, and terrorize the mind.
Stunning special effects with a compelling story set in the American soldier foot prints of WWII. Of course a story about war not only excites the senses, but it's also a total gore fest. If you are squeamish, I suggest you pick a different movie to watch.
There was limited back story to the characters, but you were definitely inside their helmets. There were many stunningly, intense POV scenes which were full of graphic, war time casualties.
Most of the movie, you are on the edge of your seat from all of the action and adrenaline-pumping, spooky scenes. Caution your eyeballs because this is one long, 1 hr 50 min, in your face kind-of-movie. It's a total guys-guy flick, for sure.
If you haven’t seen the trailer, it’s basically just J. J. Abrams stab at a movie about Nazi zombies (Call of Duty).

Date film? - Definitely not a date movie, unless you consider Hacksaw Ridge a great date flick! (Whoops!)
Great film? – It was a great WWII movie with plenty of action. I didn't think it deserved an Oscar, but I thought it was scary and cool.
