7.5/10
Fun and funny! It’s a feel good movie with plenty of familiar voices and characters that you know and love.
Although this is meant for the kids, they still hit tried-and-true their loyal toy enthusiasts. There are layers complexity to the characters even though they are portrayed so willy-nilly. I honestly need to be re-watch this flick since we saw it at 10pm and well, you know. Let's just say we were all ribbing each other to keep on track. Don't get me wrong, not because it was a bore! Quite the opposite actually!
This movie is jam packed with charming characters, stunning animation, and funny dialogue. I mean just take a look at the cast list! Wowzerz that’s a lot of funny people.
Plenty of imagination went into this within the Lego, movie industry. They definitely played within all the possibilities of the toy universe and how it interacts with the big picture, or the 30,000 ft view (from space). The interaction of two siblings Lego creations is an ingenious conflict, and one that is certainly relatable.
Wasn’t in love with the villain in this one as much as the 1st LEGO movie. Tiffany Haddish is an excellent vocalist but I could’ve done with a few less song numbers, but that’s the feel they're going for. Much of this is a musical.
Btw, shout out to the Lonely Island for once again blessing this movie with a hilarious song to close out the movie into the credits; And no, I'm not only talking about the Beck song featuring Robyn and the Lonely Island.
