A spooky concept that was well played out and didn't feel like your average cheesy horror flick.
Elizabeth Moss was an excellent choice especially with her fantastic track record in Handmaid’s Tale and Mad Men. There was a sophisticated tone taken with this film, especially with the breathtaking, modern architecture. I always appreciate a movie with an eye provoking setting.
As far as the "scare factor" goes – I wasn’t anxious or screaming audible. Although this movie is packed with suspenseful nail biters, it's nothing you (hopefully) can't handle.
There weren't really many jump scares packed in, which I was especially grateful for. Jump scares (eye roll) are such low hanging fruit for Hollywood horror.
Yeah, I felt like this movie really stood out and is actually worth you checking out; that is... if you are into slow-paced spookers.
too long; didn't read
