AMERICAN Animals is not exactly a patriotic movie, but it sure does have a lot of animals in it!
When I say animals, I mean a bunch of doped up college kids who decide to rob a librarian.
That's right, that guy from American Horror Story, Evan Peters, is at it again with a scheme of outlandish bananas shenanigans.
True story, bro.
This thriller/documentary is narrated by none other than the thieves THEMSELVES. Not only did they actually do the crime, but I guess.. they got a movie deal too? Maybe that's what it takes to make a good documentary, commit the actual crime first and then hire some actors to play it back in front of you. All in all, you have to decide as an audience member if you would forgive these Ocean's 4 wann-a-bies. The story of their crime is raw and unfiltered, it's the real deal.
It's an adrenaline rushed heist film that also has a sinister aftertaste to it. Photography was decent, but the acting was much better. Peters truly brings a captivating performance as a strung-out sociopath with a plan. Maybe that's his typecast.

Great Flick? - Yea. Although it idolizes theft and heists, the resolution speaks volumes and is fair.
